Pine Cove Bluffs - 2010!

What a terrific week! We just got back from a great family vacation at Pine Cove Christian Family Camp outside of Tyler. We have so many new family memories and we enjoyed spending time with our two nieces, Sydney and Shelby as well. The time we were able to spend together truly can't be measured. The kids are already excited to go back next year and can't keep talking about the great fun they had throughout the week. The activities were endless: banana boat riding, horse back riding, swimming, archery, zip line, dodge ball, blob, talent show, skits, bible study, family devos, theme nights (Seuss on the Loose and Great Scott), Impact dance, father (uncle)/daughter date night, couples date night and sunset cruise...the fun was non stop. What a great way to spend time as a family, recharge, reconnect, and get our priorities straight for the year ahead

Here are a just a few of our favorite pictures to share - many more taken!

This was truly one of the highlights of the week... Shelby contemplating (20 minutes) before going off of the high dive for the first time!

A little pool time...check out Benjamin skying on the Blob!

Toothless!!

What a great weekend! Friday night started with the Sting concert with good friends from Dallas. Saturday was spent running errands with the family, horse riding, and just spending time together. The busy weekend continued with a great visit to Second Baptist, shopping at the Galleria and a little house hunting trip. Oh, I almost forgot...Emma lost a front tooth!!

Baseball World Series Victory!

Summer is off to a fast start! Only day #4 and kids have already been to the swimming pool, fished (many times), rode bikes, read books, attended volleyball camp, hung out with friends, and had a water gun fight! Allison always keeps things busy during the summer.

Benjamin had a great year with the 8AAA Mets. He was the lead off batter and played 3rd base and left field most of the year. His team won their National League Division as well as the "World Series" with a win over the Yankees. It was a fun season with some really great baseball players. I am a few weeks late in putting up this post but here are a few pictures from the World Series game.

Baseball!

It has been way too long since I have made a post. Several weeks ago I rented a great new lens from Adorama Camera - a great place found at adorama.com. The lens is a Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 VR Lens II which is ideal for sports photography so I took it for a test drive at one of Benjamin's games. The lens worked pretty well although I think if I was to purchase one it might be better to get a 70-300... more work to be done to figure that one out!

I love baseball and there is nothing better than watching one of your kids compete. The 8AAA Mets are really a great group of kids and they are excellent baseball players. The team only lost 2 games during the regular season and they won their division. We are now deep into the post season tournament and they remain undefeated. One more win and they will be the undisputed champions of the league.

Skate Park - The Woodlands!

Happy Easter! After church and a lunch with family we headed to the Skate Park for part of the afternoon. If you ever want to see a chaotic environment, a ton of teenagers, and crazy skating and biking skills, just hang out at a skate park for an hour! It is really pretty amazing what some people can do on two (or four) wheels! Here are a few pictures from our adventure...

Muddy Trails 5K

Today was busy - running errands, riding horses, and two members of the family participating in the annual "Muddy Trails" race in The Woodlands. Although it was a little hot for this time of year (86 degrees) there was a great turn out for the event. It is fun to watch Emma run - she always has a smile on her face. Happy Easter!

Sunday Hike

With the great weather this weekend we had to get outside and do a little exploring. This week we headed to the George Mitchell Wilderness Preserve in The Woodlands. It was a nice 3 mile route through the woods. Here are a few pictures of the day.
